KHU buckles to allow clubs more time

HOCKEY: There is a change of heart from Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) after it softened an earlier warning to teams to register and submit the transfer forms back to the union in time.
KHU extended the transfer deadline by two weeks to allow teams more time to complete the moves. The deadline expired last Saturday, but the intervention by Nairobi Hockey Association for more time will give majority of the clubs ample time to shop around for new talents.
The decision was reached during the team managers meeting about a week ago and will be ratified by KHU executive meeting. “The two weeks were reached to allow national team ample time to train.
So far only Strathmore University have submitted their list and we felt the time was not sufficient.” said NHA Secretary General Tom Olal. - ELVINCE JOSHUA
