Speaking shortly after the aircraft landed at
Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA) from Kigoma, the ATCL JNIA
Station Manager, Mr James Mbago, said the aircraft has been leased from
South Africa through government’s efforts.
“This is our second aircraft and we are thankful that it has been well received in the market,” said Mr Mbago.
The company expects a significant growth in our passenger numbers due to the coming of the aircraft.
He said ATCL’s aircraft De-Havilland Dash 8 Q300
is still undergoing major maintenances at the firm’s maintenance
facility (Hanger) at JNIA, noting that upon completion, the
government-owned airline company will resume its traditional routes to
Mwanza, Tabora, Arusha and Mbeya.
Being a jet aircraft, CRJ-100’s flying time is
much shorter compared to the other commercial aircraft, hence saving
passengers’ time.
