Tanzania blank Kenya in beach match
FOOTBALL: Tanzania’s Ally Rabi Abdala netted four goals for the visitors to outshine host Kenya by 5-3 in a the first match of Africa beach soccer qualifications played at the Mombasa Pyrates Beach.Thousands of soccer fans flocked to the Jomo Kenyatta Public Beach to witness the first-ever continental beach soccer match played at the beach and which seamed completely different from the normal soccer matches.
It took Rabi 10 minutes to put on the net the first goal before adding a second one in the 14th min just before the end of first quarter waving the crowd after displaying sharp dribbling soccer tactics.
The coach-less Harambee Sand Stars seemed to lose focus when Tanzania’s Akida Amadi added a third goal on the 25th minute of the tense-filled match. Kenya lost several scoring chances after Ali Twalib failed to convert two fouls but just hitting the crossbar. - HARRISON KIVISU
