After opening prayers, Adul read the riot act to the MCAs who skipped the Assembly re-opening with no apologies. “This time round, it will not be business as usual. The public, voters and journalists who are here can all see what is happening in the assembly.
A good number of honourable members have decided to boycott the session. I will not allow them to sign into the Assembly register until disciplinary action is taken against them,” said Adul.
Leader of Minority Eddy Anayo who stood on a point of order asked the Speaker to suspend the session of because there was no quorum. He said the MCAs had met with Governor Jack Ranguma and decided to boycott the assembly.
“The MCAs held a secret meeting with Ranguma at his house and decided to boycott this session. Our lives are in danger because we have defied their demands,” said Anayo. The MCAs who were present claimed the failure of Ranguma to officially open the Assembly is a clear indication that he is behind the wrangles bedevilling Kisumu County Assembly.
