Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka

The battle over who will fly the Opposition’s Cord flag is slowly gaining momentum with Wiper party now claiming the post ahead of 2017 polls. The party’s top decision-making organ, the National Governing Council (NGC), met yesterday at Wiper’s headquarters in Nairobi and resolved the party will produce the Opposition’s candidate in the next General Election.
The meeting chaired by party leader Kalonzo Musyoka spelt out strategies to popularise and strengthen the party across the country and within the Cord coalition to enable it represent the coalition.
Wiper is upbeat that their candidate will be Cord’s choice in the 2017 presidential contest replacing ODM leader Raila Odinga who is widely expected to make the last stab at the presidency.
“Wiper will have a presidential candidate in 2017 and has urged its members countrywide to register as voters in readiness for the same,” party chairman David Musila told journalists after the meeting.
