Jubilee parties will dissolve, join new outfit ahead of 2017 polls – Ruto
By Githinji Mwangi and Bernard Gitau @PeopleDailyKeAll political parties under the Jubilee Alliance will be dissolved to join the newly-formed Jubilee Alliance Party (JAP) before 2017 General Election, Deputy President William Ruto has said.
Commenting for the first time on the new party, Ruto (pictured) said TNA, URP, New Ford-Kenya and Alliance Party of Kenya (APK) will be dissolved.
Speaking in Kirinyaga county at the weekend, Ruto said, together with President Uhuru Kenyatta, they agreed to form one strong political party to ensure they read from the same script. He said the Jubilee administration is one government not a power-sharing coalition, adding that JAP will bring together all Kenyans.
“We agreed to sit down as political leaders in jubilee and form one strong political party which will accommodate all Kenyans,”said Ruto. He said consultations between leaders of Jubilee-affiliated outfits are ongoing, adding that the parties in jubilee have agreed to work together under JAP.
Meanwhile, UDF party has reiterated its commitment to working with Jubilee and strengthen its pre-election pact. Chairman Hassan Osman said the party has a fiver-year agreement with the ruling coalition which binds them.
